Introducing the Recipients of the Neighbourhood Health Fund
August 2024
We’re excited to share the success of our Neighbourhood Health Fund, which has distributed £10,000 to community projects in North Manchester
In collaboration with the Manchester Local Care Organisation, the Neighbourhood Health Fund allocated £10,000 to community projects across Ancoats & Beswick and Clayton & Openshaw.
The priorities for the Neighbourhood Health Fund were based on local health statistics, with Hypertension (or high blood pressure) and bowel cancer, one of the UK’s most common cancers, identified as leading health risks in our neighbourhoods.
Local residents and community groups were invited to apply for grants of up to £10,000 to support locally embedded approaches to heart health and bowel health.
Beyond funding, the Neighbourhood Health Fund provides additional support to all applicants. Our team has been busy offering assistance, including support with the application process, facilitating connections, and promoting the projects.
The fund is also integrated with neighbourhood health experts and NHS clinical leads, who will offer ongoing support to the four successful applicants.
Here is the full list of the incredible grant recipients. Follow the links to find out more about them.
