A group of local people are looking to re-open the disused Barrington Community Centre as a community led resource under the new name of The Beacon Centre.
The Beacon Centre is now established as a charity and will create a new hub offering activities that support community health and wellbeing.
The Beacon Centre is partnering with a number of organisations to provide community-led activities for people in Beswick, Clayton and Openshaw. Activities in the pipeline include:
– Older People's Luncheon Club
– Community Grocer
– Job Club
– Health and Fitness Sessions For All Ages
